This cup is high fired slip cast porcelain and built to last. The glaze inside is food safe and dishwasher safe. The outside is smooth-sanded natural porcelain. If you grow bonsai, you might be tempted to drill a hole in the bottom and put a nice Bougainvillea in it, or maybe a small wisteria. Just remember, you will not be able to drink espresso out of it anymore.

The cups are glazed on the inside and unglazed, sanded smooth, natural porcelain on the outside.
